The following steps will help to<span class=\"s1\" style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; background: transparent;\">\u00a0create some clarity around what you want and how you can plan to achieve it:<\/span><\/p><h5>1. Define what you DON\u2019T want<\/h5><p>Contrary to opinion it\u2019s not negative to be clear on what you don\u2019t want. It\u2019s necessary in weeding out the things that you simply aren\u2019t willing to compromise on or live with any longer.\u00a0In fact, often it is negative events and emotions that show individuals the problems they wish to solve, which result in them entering a coaching (or therapeutic) relationship.<\/p><h5>2. Be CLEAR on what you do want<\/h5><p>Once you know what you don\u2019t want it makes it a whole lot easier to then focus on what you DO want in your life and keep your attention calmly focused on it.<\/p><p>Ask yourself WHY these changes are important to you: list as many benefits and reasons as you can. That way when someone asks or the going gets tough, you\u2019ll know exactly why you\u2019re making changes in your life because it will be clear in your mind.<\/p><p>LISTEN to your thoughts and find out where there may be\u00a0<i style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; background: transparent;\">limiting beliefs<\/i>\u00a0holding you back from creating this change. Perhaps you\u2019ve tried before many times and now believe it\u2019s just too hard, you\u2019re a failure, or don\u2019t deserve to feel happy\u2026<\/p><p>Write these limiting beliefs down on the left.\u00a0On the right side, CHALLENGE them:<\/p><ul><li>Are they really true or simply fears that you\u2019re holding onto?<\/li><li>What is true then?<\/li><\/ul><p>Write them down as affirmative statements on the right side of the old ones, and remember to cross out the old ones as you go.<\/p><p>If they\u2019re old beliefs from past experiences, replace them with the beliefs that will help you create the changes that you want in your life NOW. <span style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; background: transparent; text-decoration-line: underline;\">Remember to have faith in your own abilities and strengths<\/span>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0look at previous triumphs and strengths to build confidence and resolve around what you\u2019re capable of.<\/p><h5>3. Plan the STEPS required to take you from this point to that<\/h5><p>Change can be described as conscious action-taking. This requires you to\u00a0set a clear goal and b<span class=\"s1\" style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; background: transparent;\">reak it down into\u00a0<i style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; background: transparent;\">daily, weekly and monthly\u00a0<\/i><\/span><span class=\"s1\" style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; background: transparent;\">action steps and start by making small but important changes EVERY DAY.<br \/><\/span><\/p><p><span class=\"s1\" style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; background: transparent;\">Keep in mind that\u00a0it\u2019s the small conscious choices you make DAILY that develop into new habits over time.<\/span><\/p><p>Finally, commit to your goals and yourself.\u00a0<span class=\"s1\" style=\"margin: 0px;
