Thinking for others, thinking that others think <span class=\"il\">negative<\/span>\u00a0about you, or filling in the blanks by\u00a0<span class=\"il\">negative<\/span>\u00a0assumptions you think other people think about you.<\/li><li><strong>Predicting (gazing in the future) N<span class=\"il\">egative<\/span>\u00a0Outcomes<\/strong>.\u00a0Allowing fear of the unknown to overwhelm you.<\/li><li><strong>Over-Generalising\u00a0the N<span class=\"il\">egative<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0Dramatizing your results and thinking that all things will fail if you think you made a little mistake.<\/li><li><strong>Not Giving Credit to the Positive<\/strong>. Immediately downsizing your positive traits or accomplishments.<\/li><li><strong>Over-Reacting<\/strong>.\u00a0A small incident that is neutral in meaning, thinking\u00a0<span class=\"il\">negative<\/span>\u00a0about it and dramatizing the conclusion.<\/li><li><strong>Unrealistic Expectations<\/strong>. Obsessing over perfectionism, that nothing seems good enough.<\/li><li><strong>Criticising Yourself<\/strong>. Giving yourself <span class=\"il\">negative<\/span>\u00a0names, bullying or cursing to yourself.<\/li><li><strong>Insecurity<\/strong>. Imagining you made a fault or did something wrong even though nothing bad really happened. You take the blame on yourself even though it is not really needed or true.<\/li><li><strong>Dramatizing<\/strong>\u00a0and making a catastrophe from a small incident, fault or\u00a0<span class=\"il\">negative\u00a0<\/span>outcome. Linking one incident to a\u00a0<span class=\"il\">negative<\/span>\u00a0outcome that is beyond proportion.<\/li><\/ol><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Most of these patterns are intermixed and often follow on from each other.<\/p><p>It can be difficult to get out of the loop of\u00a0<span class=\"il\">negative<\/span>\u00a0thinking. First of all you should become aware that you do this, whether out of fear or insecurity. It is normal to be afraid of the unknown, and fear arises when you cannot predict an outcome. A lot of people have that trait.<\/p><p>Try small ways of changing your\u00a0<span class=\"il\">thoughts<\/span>, by focusing more on the small things that go\u00a0<em>right<\/em>\u00a0and the small accomplishments that you\u00a0<em>did<\/em>\u00a0reach.<\/p><p>Also, be aware of the contrasting evidence that happen in your favour and directly disprove your\u00a0<span class=\"il\">negative<\/span>\u00a0thinking or assumptions.
